Golden Vantage 30" Island Mount Stainless Steel Range Hood Stove Vent GVCI-30

Not sure where it was made. The instruction manual is written in broken English, there was no warranty enclosed and the box has no reference to who the manufacture is or where it is located. It did install easy enough and works great. If you are expecting the clock to stay lite, this one does not. OK DYIer

BUYER BEWARE: We purchased this island hood 3 years ago from the manufacturer on Amazon. It was marked 'new'. We should have known that the price was too good to be true. It arrived with cosmetic damage (specifically, there was a large dent on one side). By the time this was realized, our contractor had already spent time assembling it, so either I was going to send it back for another (and wait additional time and pay for the contractor to come out again) or put up with the dent. We chose the latter. And Amazon actually issued us a partial refund.Fast forward 3 years and the vent stopped working. At first, it seemed to have a mind of its own. If I selected the 3rd speed (highest), it might randomly go down to the 2nd or 1st before stopping altogether. After some months of this not knowing when it might decide to turn off, it would not work at all at any speed. And the lights also ceased working. The manual that the hood came with was good for nothing- almost comically so. Does not contain a shred of real troubleshooting. Doesn't even seem to contain much information about this product at all aside from a single picture.So I did what anyone would do: I contacted AKDY, the supplier/manufacturer. They asked for my Amazon order # as well as the model # which I supplied them with promptly. Then, much to my surprise, they sent out a new circuit board and control panel free of charge. But unfortunately, they had their own problems. The control panel was not the same one in our hood (in fact, it appeared much cheaper with actual mechanical buttons that appear like they belong on a child's toy) and the connector was in fact not the correct fit. See my photo of the control panel that was sent and compare it to the sleek digital display control panel which belongs to our vent.I contacted AKDY's product support via email three times more and never received an answer. Then I placed 2 calls to their California area code that I found on my prior email correspondence, but was not able to reach anyone.If anyone is considering this unit, STAY AWAY. Yes, it looks like a $2000 hood vent. But sadly, it's not. Now we're stuck having to purchase a brand new vent from a reputable manufacturer and pay once again to have it installed. Terribly disappointed.

The range hood installed easily, it functions well with the exception of the time. Yes, the time. Apparently, a very nice looking, well working range hood has a small problem. Aside from only being able to show 24-hour time (not a big deal), it appears as though someone has programmed a minute to be 57 seconds. I couldn't make this up...I have found the range hood to vary in time from all other clocks by roughly 4 minutes in a ten hour period, and after a week...it's quite useless for telling time. Perhaps they are operating on exact time of the earth rotating and after leap year I will be all set? Nonetheless, this is a great looking good that does a great job for the price, so long as you're not relying on it for your main timekeeping device in the kitchen.

This hood looks amazing when installed. It was a nightmare to put in with our 7 foot ceiling. Lots of cutting the stainless and sheet metal. The finished product is amazing. I recommend this for anyone with over 8ft ceilings or, if you have 7ft ceilings, you better be handy with an angle grinder. We chose the flat glass vs angled because you can bump your head on the sides as the angled glass hangs lower than the lowest point of the hood and that's the part that needs to be 28-30 inches above your range to be within code.

The media could not be loaded.  The glass on the top of the vent literally exploded across my entire kitchen. For no explainable reason.

Love it but it came w dents :( and didn't notice till after installation. Seeing if seller can send just a replacement part since installation was a bit of a hassle. Installation directions could be clearer. Bit overall very happy w product.

Has dent on it.. that's was my second one that has a dent..packaging is not good.The vent itsel looks great and works wonderful. Cons..is the dent.

This product is as attractive in my kitchen as it looked on the web. The fan is powerful also, I only use the low setting and its pretty quiet. But here is something you may not have seen in other reviews. There is a three year warranty on parts. My touch screen quit working after two and one half years so I was debating how I would repair it. I checked my purchase record on the Amazon web site and saw the warranty. After a few email exchanges I received parts in the mail and had my hood vent fixed in about twenty minutes with the right parts. I had to leave a good review. I don't always get what I need from customer service when I try to resolve a problem but this was a good resolution. I read the company service center is based in America, good deal. This fix cost me nothing.
