Q: Do these filters work for the larger, 84oz, isYoung fountain? I can't find them anywhere!

the filters for the 84 oz fountain are no longer available. Ripoff Department I was able to find material for a fish filter that seems to be doing the job.

Q: Do they make a cheaper after market filter?

Q: does the foam which goes around the pump come with the package of filters?

The large foam I fit around the base of the filter insert and the small one fits into the space in front of the pump. Small one catches saliva and food particles before it clogs the inlet of the pump. The large helps to pre-filter the junk before it gets to the pump.

Q: Where does the sponge go?

The sponge goes on top of the pump. If you take the pump column apart you will see it. Hope that helps. I don't have any pics, sorry.
