Nice addition to a great franchise
I've played and thoroughly enjoyed the first two games in the franchise and was eagerly awaiting the third iteration. In fact, the reason I purchased a PS4 in its infancy state was for this game. I'm glad my purchase was not in vain. I've completed the game as a hero in expert mode. The AI in expert is great. Although the story is pretty straight forward, it's still good. Out of the three games in the franchise, this is the least challenging but still fun. I've begun to play the evil side of the game and will update my review once I've finished it. 1. Visually, this is the best looking game for the current generation of consoles. 2. Thus far, the story is engaging and I'm really enjoying the dialog. The voice acting is incredible. I really like the main character, he comes off as very believable. The first two games hosted Cole as the main character. He was dark even when playing as a hero. Delsin is the opposite and it works for me because too much of the same gets boring and he just fits very well. 3. The open world based on Seattle is gorgeous and full of life. 4. The gameplay is comparable to the first two in the series but smoother and more refined. The new powers are fresh and fantastic. Touch pad, controller speaker, and motion controls are implemented and it works extremely well. Simply put, I'm having a blast with this game and that's what is important. Two weeks before the game launched, I created an account on a site called infamouspapertrail.com. Paper Trail is a site created by Sucker Punch that links to Infamous Second Son. A few days before the game lunched, I received a packet containing some sensory items and postcards. The instructions pointed me to the Paper Trail site and directed to take a test. The tests were based on visual, smell, and sound. It was a nice little addition that adds value to the game. By completing this test among a couple of other tasks on the site you open up a serious of missions within the actual inFamous game (you must link your PSN ID on the site). These extra missions are a blast. They're a mixture of "real-life" detective work on your computer and in-game content. The collectors Edition includes a few physical items and an in-game digital vest (I added an image of the physical content on the product page). Is it worth the extra $20? That depends? If you love the franchise, yes! Can you live without is? That depends. If you get the standard version, you'll miss out on some in-game DLC that's only available with the Limited and Collector's editions. This DLC will NOT be available for purchase later down the road so I highly suggest you purchase the Limited or Collector's editions.

Good game, just shorter
ITs nice to have a 3rd game in the series. Though more of a spin-off and shorter (reason for 4 stars); its still a good game and delivers more of what made Infamous 1 and 2 fun. The collectors content is pretty nice between the beanie and patches.

Collector's Edition
I have never played the previous inFAMOUS titles, and this game is simply fun enough to keep me entertained. It also reminds me a lot of Prototype that I played a few years back. The game speaks for itself in many other reviews. Now to the Collector's Edition, which comes with followings as per Amazon's description: Full retail copy of inFAMOUS Second Son with exclusive Collector's Edition cover artwork. > The product image is actually the exterior cardboard case for the collector's edition. Inside the cardboard case, you will find a harder case with an even bigger handprint (they really love this design), much like standard collector's edition books. Once the cover is lifted, you will find the game box. The blue plastic case that contains the Blu-Ray disk is exactly the same size and shape as other PS4 games, but the cover artwork is just a single black hand, as shown here (minus all the PS4, game title, Rating info, etc.) The back of is a similarly textured white, with Sucker Punch's logo at bottom. The spine of the blue box has "inFAMOUS SECOND SON" title, but without the blue PS4 logo, which makes itself stand out from rest of the game boxes. Premium replica of Delsin's beanie. > It's quite a comfortable beanie. It's not too thick, but good enough for early spring weather. I have worn it for a couple of days now in the chilling weather of DC. It comes with a small tag (cut using a pair of scissors) that says "Made in China", of course. Playing the game while wearing this beanie may look silly to others, but it definitely boosts my morale in gaming sessions. Other than the small brand tag where it says "Seattle 138", it is simply a dark red beanie. Set of 8 pins from Delsin's in-game vest. > These are small pins. They are actually just slightly bigger (about 2mm longer for radius) than a British 2 Pounds coin (you can look up some image for size comparison). Official Department of Unified Protection patch. > DUP patch. I assume it is for ironed to cloth. Haven't tried to use it. Bonus Exclusive Downloadable Content- Cole's Legacy > It's a redeemable code in PS Store. After downloading it, you will have a quest mark on Seattle's Map. I have yet to start on this quest. Vinyl > Not mentioned in description here. It comes with 3 vinyls, 2 in yellow DUP logo, and 1 in a semi-matte finish logo with both White and Red eagles against a black background. These vinyl stickers are great because the back comes in two parts (divided off centre) that you can easily peel off to paste somewhere. In-game Jacket > Not mentioned on product page. It's a similar jacket to what is already worn initially, but again with the silhouette hand symbol. In comparison to European version > European version has only 3 badges, with same designs. It comes with a special coin, with inFAMOUS and eagle logo on each side. It also comes with a miniature jacket (similar to what Delsin wears in game) that covers the game case. Other stuff are the same according to some online posts. So here you are. I'd love to have some form of art book rather than the pins and vinyl's and a hard case, but that is not what they included. In short, I think the Collector's Edition is worth the extra price.

9/10 in my book
Let me start off saying that I have platinum'd the previous two games in the series. Needless to say, I was very excited to get my hands on this one. The time I spent with inFamous: Second Son was spent in awe of the graphical fidelity. There is no better looking game on any console to date. It runs smooth the entire time and is a marvel to look at. Apparently they recently added a "photo-mode" because it's such a gorgeous game that people want to take photos and share them with friends. Gameplay consists of more inFamous greatness. There is little deviation from the gameplay of the prior two games, but that's not a bad thing in my book. I plowed through all of the content in Second Son and am looking forward to their DLC, but that being said, there isn't much to come back to once you platinum the game. However, there still is roughly 20 hours of content here and it's all very enjoyable throughout that time. Story-wise, I have to say that, for some unknown reason, my second playthrough felt better to me. It just didn't click with me the first go around. Lucky for me, I had full intentions of playing through the second time, so I was delighted to find myself liking the character more in round two. Troy Baker does a bang up job (as usual) as the protagonist Delsin Rowe, and his real life best friend (who's name escapes me) plays a pretty good big brother. Oh, and I need to mention that the motion capture is phenomenal; quite possibly the best I have ever seen. To wrap this up, if you have a PS4 then this is the best way to showcase the new hardware.

Great, but somewhat short game
I'm a huge fan of the first two (three if you count FoB) titles so when this came out, I just HAD to have this. The graphics are outstanding, shading, physics, particles and all. The mechanics are great, one could potentially spend hours playing the hero, or d-bag of the year. Like the original, the game's story and abilities are decided by a Karma system (good and evil actions), and while I still enjoy it, the concept is in needs a bit more originality to keep it fresh. The array of abilities are fun and interchangeable, unlike Cole's what you see is what you get. Where it starts going south is the story. There is negligible change story-wise between the hero side and the infamous side. The side questing is painfully monotonous, and I can only do it for an hour or so a session before I can't stand it anymore. The story itself while interesting, is way too short and feels rushed. If you liked the first title then by all means pick this up for some great gameplay, just don't expect to be amazed by the story.

Good but short.
Fun factor is good, it's just too short. If you not about completing the side quests or are into trophies you can beat it really quick. When you compare it to the other Infamous' it just lacks. It still has a lot of the fun and basic formula of the other games.

Easily one of the greatest games I've played...EVER
***NO SPOILERS*** I don't usually write reviews but after playing Second Son I felt so compelled to. I've never played an Infamous game before so I didn't really know what to expect other than you play the protagonist with special powers. In fact, before playing I was very skeptical of the whole idea as it seemed sort of cliche to me, though after playing Second Son this couldn't be further from the truth. You actually feel empowered like a super hero/villain while playing and it's an incredible feeling. I'm an old school gamer, been playing videogames for nearly 30 years and this is without a doubt the most immersive fun and refreshingly unique game I've had the joy of playing in over a decade. It's an absolute blast with gameplay that breaks new ground. Not since GTA3 came out in 2001 have I had this much fun, and GTA3 was groundbreaking at the time. Also, in my humble opinion this game is just highly underrated scoring around 80% on most review sites when it should be in the high 90% club. Politics perhaps? Who knows. The graphics and sound quality in Second Son are absolutely jaw dropping. Just the simpler things like looking down from the edge of a high skyscraper as you hear the wind whistling whilst viewing this living breathing place, atmospheric and mesmerizing indeed. Explosions are a site and sound to behold. Overall, Second Son is an amazing beautifully crafted masterpiece that needs to be p̶l̶a̶y̶e̶d̶ experienced to be believed. This TRULY is a prime example of next-gen and is essential for every PS4 owners collection.

Game of the Year
My goodness. Gone are the times when one used to squint at a pixelated screen when playing this game's predecessors 'Infamous' and 'Infamous 2'. Visually, this game is extremely sharp as well as beautiful. The city of Seattle, it's citizens, the environment, and the lighting make this a treat for anyone wanting to take in game screenshots and share them with the rest of the world. As for the story and powers you attain along the way...I'll keep mum to keep readers of this review on their toes! However, I will mention that you will NOT be disappointed. The fact that you can use a variety of powers for this intriguing story with our hero Delsin Rowe, keeps you wanting to come back for more until the very end. Some have made comparisons between this game and the Xbox One's headliner game 'Titanfall'. Although comparing both games are like comparing apples to oranges, the benefit of picking this game over Titanfall is that it's a genuine console exclusive. Whereas Titanfall is available for both Xbox One AND PC. To conclude, Sucker Punch: WE SALUTE YOU. 10/10 Would play and will play again.
