An Instant Must-Buy - the Best Picture Quality I Have Ever Seen
The media could not be loaded. **Amazon cannot host videos bigger than 100MB in size, so for a higher-quality video, feel free to check out my Youtube video:https://youtu.be/4-nWu7ehsAYHere are some quick impressions. I will write a more thorough review once I have more time to play with it and enjoy it.Words cannot begin to describe the picture quality of this OLED TV, especially when you are watching a movie. You really don't understand what is "infinite contrast" and all this TV mumbo jumbo, until you do the cliched "see it for yourself."You don't need to understand anything, you just need to believe your eyes. Before this, the best TV I've owned was a Samsung plasma from 2007, back when the panel was glass, the case was glass, and the thing weighed over 100 pounds.I've had over 30 TVs over the years, because I'm also a product reviewer, and although I did not own a set as high-end as this one, I have had some high-end sets, such as that Samsung, another LG plasma, an LG LED, a Panasonic LED, and a Vizio 4K LED - all over 50 inches - and this LG set blows them all away easily. The easiest way to explain this is, if you have a high-end Samsung phone with an AMOLED screen such as a Galaxy S5 or Note 3 family(because of the 1080p resolution), and you blew it up to 55 inches, this is what you would get. The colors are saturated, the contrast levels are out of this world, and the picture quality is crisp and clean.Another quality that grabs your attention right away are the aesthetics. The panel portion of the TV(the screen) is literally thinner than most smartphones - that is truly incredible. It does get fatter in the middle as a housing component is strapped to its back to accommodate all the ports and processors/electronic components. It is curved, which makes it look great, but as a practical effective quality it has pros and cons. The main pro is the illusion that it sucks you into the movie/sports program. Glare/reflections are also minimized if you're sitting right in the center. However, because of its curved nature, the screen sucks in reflections from many angles, so unless you're watching a movie at night an unlit room, watching it from an off-angle during the day is almost impossible(although because it is an OLED technology, off-angle picture quality retention is the best I've ever seen - color, brightness, and contrast remain almost as good as center, just like from your OLED phone screen). The WebOS system is the best smart system I've experienced on a TV overall. It does take a few seconds for it to load up and connect once you turn the TV on, but it reacts quickly. The one negative is the 2014 edition of the included Magic Remote(model AN-MR500) is not full-featured and slows down what you want to do. For example, there is no dedicated settings button, or a quick-menu button, so changing the video/audio presets are such a pain. This is a huge negative - what were you thinking, LG?? Also, you can turn it into a universal remote and also control your cable box. But since there are no buttons to input the channel numbers, it turns out pretty useless. But they have learned from their mistakes, and the 2015 edition(model AN-MR600) has many more buttons and features built-in on the remote. In the end, the UI of WebOS and its speediness is a bigger pro than the con of the issues of the remote, so I'm giving this an overall plus. The sound is decent. Overall output is a stated 40 watts - better than most TVs, but not as good as last year's Gallery OLED TV with its 100-watt 2.1 built-in subwoofer setup. It is okay for cable viewing. But for movies, add a speaker system - this TV is way too good of a visual experience to compromise on the audio experience.Taking everything into consideration, this is a TV you should not miss, even if 4K and 4K OLED are already here. First, 4K LED picture quality is nowhere near as good as this, and we are still at least 2 years away from mainstream 4K being integrated into everyday usage. Second 4K OLED is not at a practical price point yet - the LG 55" 4K OLED is twice as much, while the 65" 4K OLED is still $9,000. So although you can get a bigger 4K LED TV at the same or lower price, for me the pleasure of the OLED experience trumps that. And for those waiting for "quantumn dots" and HDR TVs, they will cost the same as OLED, but will not better its picture quality. In the end, any LED technology cannot better OLED technology. That is just a proven fact. But if you want to wait for another 1-2 years until "I told you so" while the rest of us are living and loving OLED right now, then go ahead. And with the price going from $2,500 to $2,300 just a few days ago, it makes this decision all the easier. Trust me, OLED is the future, and you can experience it NOW.

Beware of Quality Problems and Rock Bottom LG Service.
Picture on this TV is almost perfect. However, the first TV died within two weeks of delivery. Amazon replaced this unit. The second unit died after 4 months of operation. The current status is that for the last three and one half weeks we have been trying to get LG to repair the unit. Each time we have called, we have been instructed to wait an additional 3-5 business days. So not sure after three and a half weeks of trying what will happen or if LG's plan is that I will just eat this $3K junk TV if they make the service path difficult enough.Anyway, will update the review when I know more.

Excellent still picture
Excellent still picture, great looking TV, but among the worst I've seen with motion handling. Judder is terrible on this TV - even with basic on screen movements.

A pretty good all around 1080p tv
To get started, lets talk about set up. Setup was quick and easy and done in less than 5 minutes. The tv takes you through all the steps in a fun way.The motion controlled remote works very well and will readjust itself if the movements become desynced.WebOS was as smooth and intuitive as it was said to be. Probably one of the best smart platforms out there. The black levels of this tv is insane. The first tv I've ever had that was truly black. However there are some trade-offs against the true blacks that OLED offers. One of these is that some images that I've come to expect to be bright are very dull, even those that you wouldn't think would be dull such as medium yellow. I guess it depends on your taste but I just found it odd how some things are as bright as you would expect and others aren't. I've also found that beside loading screens and letterbox bars that the contrast hasn't shown much improvement in picture quality as I had expected it to over LED. I've also found that LGs video processing is not as good as other tv manufacturers such as Sony. The picture is not as detailed or as clear as my previous Sony 1080p and 4k models. Lastly, for those that game a lot and input lag is important for, you will have to decide for yourself how it feels. To me, it has a barely perceptible amount of lag that is just enough to throw you off sometimes even compared to the 4k Sony which only has about 5-8ms less lag but feels much more responsive overall.ConclusionOLED has plenty of potential as a display type but LG just doesn't have the processing to take it to that next level. If all you do is watch movies that have tons of dark scenes then this is the tv for you but others may benefit from other manufacturers for the time-being.

This is definitely the best picture quality I've ever experienced
This is definitely the best picture quality I've ever experienced. I would say this TV is better than watching a movie at the theater. Having said that, I'm not happy with the SmartTV experience. The menus are slow and sometimes the picture studders in some apps. Additionally, I don't feel like I should have to deal with ads when downloading common apps after paying (this much) for the TV.
