I would suggest the USS Lexington or USS Yorktown by Lindberg or the USS Yorktown by Revell these are famous WWII Carriers that can be found on Amazon we carry them. Much easier and much less expensive.I could also suggest a book "Basics of Modeling" by Mike Ashey excellent found on Amazon.

Does the kit contains paint, glue and necessary tools?

Should you use the Tamiya extra thin cement? How many bottles?

Using 1 bottle of Tamiya extra thin cement is plenty. The brush attached to the top is a great applicator and the thin cement penetrates well and great to work with. As an extra, you can also get a tube of Testors cement for a few bigger areas.

Where can I buy a display case (just regular plastic) that I can use with this model?

You have to get a custom built case this is a very large model. Look on the internet. Look for model ship display cases.
