For PS2 PS3 HDTV-READY TV HD COMPONENT AV CABLE 5-WIRE

I dug out my PS2 recently and hooked it up to my flat panel TV and it looked just awful. I only had my composite cables because my component cables were lost in a recent move, so I took to Amazon to find a replacement. These cables were inexpensive and fit the bill perfectly. If you've never owned component cables for the PS2, and if you are still using your PS2, I highly recommend the upgrade. Even if your set isn't an HDTV you will still notice a vast improvement in picture quality (assuming your non-HD set has a component input, which would be a requirement to use these cables.) I have not used these on my PS3 as I use an HDMI connection, but if you're using composite on a PS3 I would still recommend upgrading to component as it will provide a better-looking picture.

i am using this cable for the ps2 and so far its working amazingly, one piece of advice though, when you buy this and plug it into your tv you have to watch out which red plug in you plug into, i pluged everything up and when i turned on my ps2 there was a buzzing sound and the color was awfully dark and green, i almost flipped out. But all i had to do was switch the two red plug ins and viola! it worked beautifully, its confusing because the red plug ins look exactly the same

I purchased this for my PS2 in efforts to clear up the picture on my 32" HDTV. It did just that, the picture looks great (for a PS2 game). However this cable DOES NOT work when you try playing PS1 games on the PS2. But I just play them on my PS3 so that's ok. Cable length is fairly long and the gable ends fit snug in the PS2 and my TV's component connection. Great product!

I got these cables for PS2 and they work fine. First, hook up your PS2 with your old cables that came with the console and change the display configuration on the PS2 to the component setting which is Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr. For the Screen Size setting, I think 4:3 or 16:9 looks better than the Full setting. Then, set the Digital Out setting to Off, but I don't think this one matters. Then, make sure your TV and PS2 are off before you switch out the cables to the component ones. The component cable is a tighter fit on the back of the PS2 so make sure it's in all the way. Some TV brands suggest that you also unplug the TV from the power outlet before hooking up the cables but I don't think that matters.

Couldn't stand the way my PS2 looked on my HDTV set. This cable makes a BIG difference. Keep in mind...it won't be perfect. The PS2 was made before HDTV in 16x9 was the norm. However it will make the PS2 'watchable' again. One IMPORTANT thing: You MUST CHANGE THE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION SETTINGS FROM RGB to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr....or you'll just hear the audio but won't see the new video signal.

It doesn't work right on my TV. The screen is is blue and there is no sound. It's plugged in right because I used to do stuff like that for a living but the cables are bad because every screen in the house is the same way.

I know there are a lot of reviews on this item.. "50/50" on whether or not it will work. Mine happens to work perfectly! Yes, the graphics aren't in HD, but what graphics there were for a PS2 at the time those games were made were not. As long as you switch over from RGB, you're golden! I took a chance on buying this, and I'm so glad I did! Now I can play my old games with my slim PS2.

These cables work, but the part the plugs into the ps3 is very low quality. I had to bend a few of the pins and then proceed to wiggle back and forth till it finally decided to plug in. Afraid if I pull it out I wont be able to plug it in again but it does work. Bought these so my bro could use the ps3 on an older tv with sharper text than what the original cables could do.

works exactly as it should, not much i can say I mean its cables.

Of the PS2 component cables that I tested, the "Insten" branded cables provided the best picture quality that is above all others.

One of the cords actually broke off into my TV and got stuck. Now I have no way of using component cables as the piece is wedged inside. Wouldn't recommend.
